Throttle gettin stuck

Whatz up guys, I've been working on my buddies 98sj with him... And lately no luck... I cleaned and rebulit his dual carbs, cleaned out the reeds.. lubed up the throttle cable... Any other information would be appreciated..

So, what is the problem? You pull the throttle lever, and it doesn't return?

Yeah that would help if I posted that, the throttle does return, however, it is still reved up very high, last time I had to choke it out...to shut down the engine...

Disconnect the throttle cable from the carbs, and rev it by hand (using the throttle wheel on the throttle shaft).
Does it return fine there?

Yes - Your cable is suspect. Check for kinks, wear, etc.
No - Check the return spring on the carb

also, make sure the carbs are syncronized.

Not sure of an air leak, all the gaskets and carb assembly are new
