This will cause me trouble won't it?

my old exhaust hose split on me and was leaking water and exhaust fumes. So I pulled it and am trying a new hose but am thinking it will just cause trouble (see pic). Per a recent convo with a guy on here, he noted the factory pipe elbows from chamber to waterbox are junk and to just use an old couch hose. What are your suggestions?

Off the cuff it looks like you need 2 inch hose on both ends but I am not familiar with your water box, best just to measure then look up the correct hose if different. If you go to products tab at top of link then look in Hoses and clamps section down on the left you'll find pages of hoses

Edit: I was also wondering what hose you were running that split and if you know why it split... Box strapped down good, alignment good, not overheated

When I was putting the ski together a local guy told me to use a section of the long exhaust hose. I'm assuming it got too hot? I'm not sure but don't want to use that hose again. I'll attach a picture. The inside of the hose looks like craters inside of it.

You could also just use a 2" 45* copper elbow from the plumbing department at Home Depot and a short cut off of your current or split hose. Two short, straight, mini couplers. It would require 4 gear clamps, one on both ends of each mini coupler but it works. I did that with my 650sx, ran it for 3 years, sold it last year to a buddy and it's still holding up.

Id run what you have there until you get a better hose, just be gentle on it. The narrower hose is going to czuse it to run richer but could also cause more back pressure which could be a problem at high rpm. And by run it until you get better, i mean a cruise around the lake while your hose is on order. Not a perpetual delay in ordering.

This hose now will be just for a day or two. I just want to ride the ski and enjoy it before I leave next Friday. I want to order something today though. I don't want to run the hose on it for very long
