NEVER use starting fluid.
It washes the oil off the crank and can score bearings
squirt a little premix down the carb to see if it will fire

I poured some premix in the carb and it fired up right away so its got to be the needle. I'm just have trouble finding a screwdriver that is small enough to take that cover off. To access the needle its the cover on the starboard side of the carb with four philips screws right?

Do not attempt to access that needle with the carbs in, you're going to cause yourself more grief. Remove the carbs to do the service, it's time to rebuild those carbs. Did the shop rebuild the carb while the ski was there?

But before you pull the carbs, check the simple stuff.
Check the pulse line for cracks, it goes from the carb to the engine case.
Check the vent on the gas tank.
How are the condition of the fuel lines, they could deteriorate and cause blockage.

As for the vent on the gas tank, Its the thing that looks like the top off a ketchup squeeze bottle right? I should be able to blow into it but not suck correct?

Before you take the carb off... Try putting your hand over the carb throttle body and crank it over. You should see fluid dripping into the carb afterward. If you don't then it's likely the needle valve... If you do then the fluid is probably water... Not gas.

I ended up just taking it in to the shop that rebuilt my carb because I narrowed the issue down to that. It ended up being a stuck needle valve like most of you said and the shop took care of it. Time to get back out on the water. BRAPP BRAPP

it has to take longer than that to just take the carb off and put it back on. Plus the shop guys did it for free... I appreciate the pics and advice but i was convinced that if I took it apart and something went wrong the shop would say I messed it up or something.
