Thermal switch

I did a search, but came up empty handed.

I just installed a Riva Billet head in my Blaster, it has the provisions for the THERMAL Couple, but the OEM thermal couple is too tall and can not be mounted the same way as it did on the original head. Does riva sell one for their heads or do you guys all disconnect the OEM one and run without it?

I like the security measure of having one on the motor incase it overheats that it shuts down.

Let me kknow what your opinions are!

Thanks

George

I like having it there, but when I upgraded to an ADA head, they don't even have a spot, so I disconnected it. You can unplug it in the e-box and seal up the hole. Seems weird that your head would have a spot for one, but the OEM wouldn't fit. You might try searching for temp sensor rather than thermocouple. I know there have been a few discussions about this before. Might talk to riva and see what they expect you to do. It's possible that you have a mfg defect or something.

Yea I got a riva head on my blaster also and there's a spot to mount it which is about 1/8" deep. I don't know what they were thinking. I just tied mine out of the way but next time I open the box I'll remove it.

I cut the temp sensor off all my skis. I've only needed it one time, and in that case my engine overheated anyway. So it's kind of useless IMO, and it takes up space. Also if the sensor goes bad it limits your RPM's... which could ruin a good ride.

when i installed by ADA head. i pulled the grommet off the wrire and used that to plug the hole. also added silicone to hold it in place and fill the hole, i put some duck tape on one side to hold the silicone in.
