How did I get here?

1990 SJ stock.
It was giving me strange fits that until recently I wasn't able to get it to replicate the problem on my own until recently. When the ski got warmed up, it would act as if the fuel filter was clogged or there was water in the line. The gas flow would seem to cut in and out. Tried everything except replacing the fuel lines and looking at the carb, until this weekend. For the longest time I thought it was water in the fuel as cleaning out the filter fixed the problem for a bit.
Yanked the carb, pulled the pump portion off and noticed that my carb was turning into a werewolf. Somehow a bunch of hair and other disgusting junk got in the carb and was stuck in the filter. Dunno how that happened as there's always been an inline fuel filter installed.
That was my problem, RedRocket. Gonna get a carb kit and rebuild it for the first time in umpteen years. It's pretty nasty.
