i wonder since min eis set back another two inches if that will help with fitting the pipe. what is that bracket you used for the hood strap? i was trying to figure something like that out.

Oh yeah. That should help out quite a bit actually. I forgot your engine was further back. The pieces for the hood strap aren't really brackets. They are just strips of aluminum taken from the same piece I used on the back of my turf. I just cut two small pieces off, rounded the edges, riveted them to the hull and folded the strap over so it can't be pulled through.

Looks good and nearly ready to ride!

What type of waterbox is that?

I'm thinking next weekend at the latest to ride the first time...assuming everything else goes smoothly from here on.

The waterbox is a Factory Pipe SN waterbox. I really like it.

The tank is the one that has the strap. The waterbox is wedged in there so it can't go anywhere (I think) and turfed so when it vibrates, it won't wear the hull down.

That water box is tight , but looks like it fits well ..

as far as the gas tank .. I think Steve is recommending that you try to run a strap the opposite direction of the one that is pictured.

But if your external fill hose is ridgid enough, that may help hold it place.

i ran the same tank last season, you will probably need a strap around the bottom, where the tank profiles in, see pic below, that tank WILL move, even if it feels snug now....

also.. i dont know if you have ran a kart tank before.. but you will get frustrated on how often you have to fill it up, i ran dry so many times it was unreal

I ran the single strap in my SN for a while and yes I completely understand how fast you can suck that tank dry but I never had it move on me...or at least not enough to make any difference. I ran turf under the tank in my last hull though. Maybe I need to do that in this one. I'm really looking into the possibility of building a custom tank. I've toyed with a few designs but so far all the conformal tanks that I've designed don't offer enough fuel to justify the trouble so if I build one, it'll probably just be something simple that will fit where a normal tank goes, only bigger.

It's coming along nicely now. I should be done tonight and have a weight but I'm guessing it'll be too dark to ride by then. The limited b pipe chamber will not fit in the hull unless you take the manifold off. Then getting the manifold bolted back on is a little tricky...although not as tricky as tightening those top two center bolts on the manifold. :)grumble: F-ing factory pipe)

I have a customized wrench just for those bolts. sucks to hear the limited chamber wont fit unless you pull the mani.I mocked mine up with a mod chamber,(it fit easily ) but was planning on using the limited.:bad3:

Engine bay is TIGHT!! You can probably see why I decided to ditch the waterproof total loss box... Everything is in there except the coupler cover and the flame arrestor.

Final weigh in... 260lbs ready to ride minus gas. The battery that's currently installed is 16lbs.

So that's a solid 40-50lbs lighter than my SN when I refoamed and flatdecked it last summer with the exact same stuff. I did change the RN and SN poles though but they weighed the same. The only things that will get added later is the trim nozzle instead of the 61x nozzle and a bilge pump.

losing 40-50 lbs is a big losss you dont think it is on paper but in reality its alot.

plus your shortening your hull by a ton from the last...you will notice it in a different way, not from SN to SN weight
