The Monkey gets it up?!

This is for all my new friends:

No little blue pills here...:squint:

The fire has been set and there is no stopping my conversion now!

It was just a a couple months ago that I was a 6'4" 250 lb couch rider and I was perfectly happy. Then I stumbled onto this board and made my way the Cleveland Rock-n-Ride.

After about 15 mins of trying to get up on Madmat's SJ in the chop and slop Sunday of the R-n-R, without success I went home with my tail between my legs. I did meet lots of great new friends and the fire was lit I was hooked!

Fast-forward to 2 Thursdays ago what looked like a drizzly gray and terrible flat-water day... I convinced oldskool (Paul) and the retard (Adam) to go out on Lake Erie off Rocky River. The lake was glass as flat as I have ever seen it. The lake was empty not a soul to be seen but the three amigos.

First it was on oldskools new 93 650 Stock SJ after some struggling I was on my way on my knees then I was up on my feet then... :splatt:

Then a while later after recovering my strength I managed to get up on Adam's 06 SXR then... :splatt: True to what you guys have been telling me it was easier to get up on the SXR.

There was more... :splatt: then anything but it could not have been more fun.

I just wanted to say thanks to the Cleveland Crew for adopting this deprived couch rider and to all the guys I met at the R-n-R, its official I am hooked! I have a lot of unlearning / learning todo but I am sure that with you guys helping me I will be out thrashing in no time.

Now its time to find a ski for my big @$$!

It takes time to learn. I know it first hand. I'm 6'6" and 235lbs. I ride a 96' Sxi and love it. Keep up the practice and you'll have it down in no time.

Don't worry man I was forced to ride these damn things when I accepted a job at the Kawi shop in 1986.I had to ride on my knees because I only got to ride for a few minutes at a time, testing boats that usually didn't run right,it took me months of riding for minutes at a time before I could stand up on one, after that it was on like donkey kong!

All the more reason to go lite weight Kawi hull when you decide to build!!

Glad you are addicted man!

All the more reason you need to get your envy done so I can ride it! You owe me after standing me up day after day when I was home. Now I am stuck in the Gulf :pokey: again with IKE bearing down on me... I got some awesome pics of the wake an oil rig makes when being towed by 3 huge tugs...
