The "minus amount" on Xmetal steering setup?

I have the Xmetal steering plate and straight bars. i cant remember how much length I am loosing. It is 1.5" for the plate, and 1" for the straight bars? or?:Eyecrazy:

I'm sure mine is a 2.5". Its pretty old and came from good ol' Slymo a few years ago!
