Alright X fam. You asked for it, so here it is.

For a little background, I am an ex-comp rider with no affiliation with LSP or SBT. Just an enthusiast like you guys.

When Lee first announced the S1 late summer 2024, I was extremely curious like everyone else. When the info was released about the hull/specs/drivetrain I was interested. After owning a KDX 701, DVX 701 and Circus with a 701, I'll all about a small hot engine in a good hull. I also typically only ride freshwater, either flatwater or boat chasing, so this is right up my alley.

Some quick math proves that to replicate this setup with new parts and hardware would be in the $18,000-ish range and the S1 is $12,500. So whats the catch, right? I figured since Lee put his name on it, its worth a shot.

On September 12th I was waiting on the LSP website and the moment the S1 was released, I ordered 2. $500 downpayment on each. One for me and one for my buddy and next door neighbor @keep up .

So lets get to it. S1's arrived Marth 20th safely crated and looking fresh AF! Both skis even came with a bonus full sheet for Hydroturf protecting them in the crate (looked like B stock, but whaev. it was packing material that we can re-use). I am extremely particular and picky about everything I own. I want my toys to be perfect. They pretty much both looked immaculate. I'm still waiting for the catch.....corners cut....cheap parts...something? I was pleasantly surprised. Thrust OVP steering, Antigravity 16, swanky Revolver custom turf, XS adjustable pole, legit trim (un-marked, but looks like LS-10). Pipe looks like a BUN, but also un-marked. Mikuni 46's, Proks, Thrust girdled head.....I mean all the goodies. Oh, and they came with MCO's and vin plates.

All I did to get going was connect the batteries, replace some hose clamps with Oetikers (because I am picky), and gas up. Never even turned a screw on the carbs, only the idle.

How does it ride? I was worried I wouldnt like the way the S1 rides because I have never really felt comfortable on anything other than a XS hull, because 95% of my ride time has always been on a (KDX/DVX/Helium). I'm 6'2" and 215, so I like a bigger ski. This being the Revolver XL mold, I was impressed. It s a little more tail heavy than a DVX, but I felt comfy fairly quickly. Day one was cold and the water was cold, so I didnt ride much. I flipped both skis several times and never got wet. The 760 has good snappy power and the hull wants to flip. It is not carbon and you can tell, but the power and the hull design makes up for it, plus it's freakin $12k for crying out. I was very happy. The S1's were better than I was expecting

Since the day they have arrived we have ridden them 5 or 6 different times as recent as last weekend. Including a boat chasing session, which in my opinion is where this ski really shines. You can send this MFR off a boat wake! It flips easily if you already know how to flatwater flip. It flatwater rolls a lot easier than I was expecting.....I think the OVP and Trim/Flow guard give you a lot of help. You can flip it off a boat wake with very little effort.....you actually don't really even know how to flip, just hit it remotely decent and you're going in a circle.

All in all, I never found the "catch". In fact, I dont think there is one. Its a solid setup and its crazy cheap, all things considered. It's built well with yami based parts that we are all familiar with. I still dont know how they do it for the price. I guess Lee leveraged his relationships and found a way to do it. Regardless, I would buy one again in a second.

Hit me with your questions. I'm an open book.

The ski you got is forsure unbeatable and cannot be replicated at that price. I didnt think you could order one right now. The few at finals were definitely quality units.also heard the new ones are all different parts sourced from overseas (which we all expected)its hard to even get a response back so who actually knows. But this is what needs to happen to help the sport grow if everyone can weather the storm and the growing pains that will come with it stand ups might actually be popular again.

I'm curious to see the comparison between unit #10 and unit #100 and what parts have changed.

I am the neighbor and this description is spot on. I am not even an amateur, I just like cool things with motors. I’ve been fortunate enough to ride almost every ski Peter has had, and successfully flipped 3 or 4 of them plate to plate, but never actually rode one away.

I have only ridden 3 tanks of fuel through the S1 and I have over rotated numerous flips on a boat wake. Flat water, I have gotten one about 60%-65% around. I am terrible at a set up wake. I am also heavy at 230 lbs. After 3 tanks through it. I can guarantee I will be able to flip it by mid to end of summer. The power and the ski are there, but my skill just isn’t…. yet.

I have zero regrets with my purchase.

I do want to make this statement. While I agree, Peter said it isn’t full carbon and you can tell, but I will say it is closer to carbon than it is to fiberglass. We have lifted them on stands, to hitch haulers etc. He had a full carbon ski that we have lifted back to back and it really doesn’t feel much off from that compared to my glass AF hulls (BOB, Backie Chan, Tiger craft - to be fair the tiger craft isn’t a flat water hull, so it isn’t a direct comparison) that I have owned.
