I could pass the 'blind test' big time on my own ski w/or w/o a TBM cone installed. My ski felt as if I had a tennis ball shoved in the exhaust that would not allow the engine to rev freely. Is that a good explanation? It's about the best I can think of. The minute I ditched the TBM it made a night and day difference in my engine revving freely/quickly.

Thats was probably that potato I stuffed in there, actually when the potato rotted weeks later it probably blew out and then your ski ran well,I am guessing that happened to coincide with you taking the TBM cone out.Sorry about that it was supposed to be a Joke ,I knew I was forgetting something, curse this Damn ADD!:fart:

hmm,so it seems like the guys who do better with them are using big bores or strokers, thusly the slight restric does not slow the motor up.things like this just look so gimmicky just makes me wonder how many guys could pass the blind test

Gil was running a 5mm stroker.... So, that theory does not hold water. Yamacat is running a Flattop Superstock setup. It freaking rips.

just put one in my ski last week ... and i saw a lot of diference in the surf.....

My ski , is 701, dual 46, B-Pipe, Msd Enhancer, Skat-Trak swirl 12/17, tmb pump cone with the small cone , wammer trim ... the nozzle of wammer trim it´s bigger than stock

i got told to ditch mine to loosen up some power. as i have seen and read. it"s all about pump/ power combo i liked mine with my last engine set up. i'm going to take it off for this set up (Blind test). I do not think i would sell mine after i pull it off as i liked it in the past..:Eyecrazy:

After this thread I am now scratching my head big time-I know for a fact my ski sucked donkey ballz w/the TBM and runs like a raped ape w/o the TBM. I honestly don't get it.

Im running mine with a Team scream 709 with ported cases, cyl, recut domes with a full spec intake and I have no problem getting the motor to rev.

Pump seal not installed properly?

Mark44

I dealt w/a pump seal issue early on and rectified the situation quickly and now I NEVER remove the wear ring to pull the pump. Still scratching my head. LOL

As previously stated-Jeremy Parr and I run identical set ups and he likes the TBM and I hate it.?.?.?.?

but you were running a different prop than Parr.

Now i am thinking to take it off and test without.... I am really confused now...I don´t konw if was good or i setup my carbs right... LOL...

my motor is a ported 83.5 lightened pistons, custom domes, custom chuckie r&d intake and carb set up..team scream motor too chuckie does all my work and tuning himself. he uses it for his r&d :notworthy: it was he that said take the tbm out and retry to get more hit. this motor does not rev as fast as it has in the past. i guess i should not say rev but HIT . also he just took out my advent (go figure broke) replaced with a msd enhancer . he wants to put in more timing in it but did say get rid of the cone for this combo?? :scared:

At 2 different times I had a identical prop to Parr in the pump. Solas 13/16 -5mm. Also tried, Skat freeride 12/17, 14.5/19.5, Skat C75 12/17.

I am still scratching my head. LOL Then again, I really don't care cuz my ski is FUGGIN AWESOME now.

Ok, I'm just now getting ready to install this thing today.

Is there anything I need to know to install it? Do I just bolt it on or do you silicone first? I tried to find some install info, but couldn't.
Anyone got any tips or tricks?
