The evolution of the sitdown

if you narroed the 3d down and kept the 951 motor in it, they would have something.

it is kind of a stick with what you know thing..... seadoo knows sit downs as evidenced by the lack of enthusiasm for the 3D

kawi and yamaha know stand ups as evidenced by the evoluion of the js to the sx series in the kawi line and the evolution from the FX-1 to the sn to the rn superjets.

my theory is don't rock the boat unless you can roll it over

the fx1 was not first. it was square nose first. the fx1 was made at the same time as the square in the mid 90s. not sure on years. I think it was only 94 and 95 though.

I have to say though, they'd be up against a tough crowd when it came to getting die hard stand up riders to buy any stand up that said "Sea-Doo" on the side of it . . . . . . .

A small stand up or even the size of a SXR would be a bad ski with the 787 rotax motor in it. That was 110 HP and lightly modded was an easy 160+ And could you imagine the power to weight if you had a limited 787 in a light weight hull.

I would buy one... unless it looked like the 3d

Bet the Dess and that happy go lucky Sea-Doo MPEM would work great in the salt.
I can hear all the beeping standups now.

Doo had some great little motors but their electrical systems and the monopoly on programers SUCKED !!

I have had as much fun as anyone poking fun at the 3D but it would be interesting to know if it has served any function at all as a "Gateway Stand up" . . . . . . .

That is to say, that someone may have actually ridden a 3D in "stand up" mode and then actually became interested in, and went on to get a real Stand up as a result of their encounter with the huge 'Doo.

Or am I just trying way too hard to find some reason to think the 3D has some how been useful !
