The black hole inside my ski.

What can I do about the black hole in my ski? Everytime I am working on my ski, a nut will ALWAYS fall off and roll off into the magical black hole, never to be seen again. I look everywhere. arround the sides, under the tank, under and on the bed plate, I even take the ski out, ride it, let it get some water in it, and stand on the back so the water will carry everything in the hull to the back, but these pieces are never seen again.

I used a wrench once so I could get under the bed plate. I accidently taped the positive cable... the neg cable is on the starter, which is connected to the engine, which is connected to the bed plate.

Good thing I wasn't working with the fuel!!!!

Nothing to worry about. Every ski loves to swallow things to never be seen again. You can turn the thing over and shake it for an hour, it won't help.
I heard some people throw coins, wives' jewelry and enemies' bones into the hull for good luck.
The NJ wise guys dispose the bodies in the RXT or STX hulls nowadays.

i thought for sure my old 650 had a huge hole under the bed plate for the longest time there. i would lose all kinds of crap then go ridin and find all new stuff i never put in there

The real little stuff gets sucked into your bilge pumps and works it's magic, the bigger stuff rattles around till it hits your coupler, then its just more wallet draining magic...

I found a nice Craftsman 10 mm open end/box end wrench one time in an X2 I was parting out. Original owner must not have been educated about the black hole.

Epoxy down a magnet in the rear near the stock bilge pump. Next time you have the engine out, you are sure to find it there. That is unless your nuts are made of Titanium like mine!

Throw a huge barrell roll. Halfway through it, pull of your hood, hold that with one hand, use the other hand to catch whatever falls out. Should be super simple, especially if you have foot holds. :barrel:
