No problem. PM me when you make the trip, I'm only about 1hr 45min from daytona and any excuse to go ride is a good one.

So, I finally got my waterbox drilled out after breaking and returning the first drill bit. I used a 7/16 bit that cost about 25 bucks. Lots of oil and going slow helped to make this an easy job. I drilled 6 holes through both plates, one hole was already there as per my first post. Here's the pics.100_0704.jpg100_0703.jpg100_0702.jpg

Everything you've done so far looks good. Can't help you on the flywheel though, I know the way groupK does it is on a lathe and they just take some of the thickness out of the walls (have no idea how much without making it too weak), can't think of another way without risking throwing the balance out of wack. I don't think I've ever seen anyone do it themselves, maybe someone else will chime in on it.

I don't know what prop I have. I know its decent aftermarket one, but is there an easy way to tell? I'll post some pics. It came with the ski and I don't know much about props.

Also heres some of the work I've done since recieving the parts in the mail from Prickof Misery, who by the way is a great seller.

I hope I don't need ear plugs. I'm glad if its louder.

Anyone know of a good place to buy some footholds for this x2? I'm not sure how to mount them or what kind to buy. I know windsurfing ones are best apparently.

The tubes you put in your hood are too high , not on the intake side but where they dump into the air/water duct.

To find more info on tweeky your X2 you should head over to PWCToday_com , a bigger X2 comunity and section over there.

I use PWCtoday as well but mostly this site bcause of the riding group I'm in contact with.

What is it going to matter if they are too high? I didn't really do it intentionally just wanted to make it snug. I guess there could be some issues with it but an explanation would be helpful...

Right now they are above the wall in the intake track that blocks the water from entering the hull and diverts it to the drain side. Any water that gets in those pipes could end up on the wrong side of the diverter and go into the hull. I think you'll be fine and what you have is still tons better than the stock intake, but WFO is right having those lower would be better.

yah I see what you're saying, I guess I was thinking it wouldn't matter too much because any water that got in there should fall straight down and would run out the drain side. And if it didn't then it'd mean the vent would already be filled with water and the water coming in from the tubes would have no where to go but into the hull. If it doesn't work I'll swap hoods with my other X2 that I let the girls ride, it has the floats on it. Haha.

I'm struggling to find a good tutorial on mounting my footstraps, It seems like guys do it so many different ways. Is it better to mount the inside half of the strap to the floor or below the seat. The outside one isn't difficult but its the inside one that worries me. (And yes I have searched PWC)

This is pretty much my thoughts as well, but if the ski is leaned to the side while draining water, it would fall into the intake track. Like I said, not as good as having it lower, but still good.

I think this is personal preference, I mounted mine to the floor cause i wanted it to be lower and it fit my foot/shoes better that way. Neither way is better then the other (i think the hull is the same thickness at either location), just stick one of your riding shoes or your foot in there and move the mounting points around until you find what you think would be best.

Make sure you use some sort of epoxy when you mount your straps. I epoxied my screws in because they will come out with hard riding. Also, On the prop, I can't tell by looking at it, However, It looks like a stock prop. I used an sxr800 prop cut back to fit my 650 pump by impros. You can find used sxr props and impros will make it fit perfect. Then def give you the tope end speed you are looking for. Good luck and have fun in Florida.

Thanks for the advice. I don't think the prop is stock but I don't really know other than what a couple people have told me. I got the straps installed and they feel rock solid. I used some long pop rivits on the inside part (3 in each) and got some 5/16 stainless bolts to do the other side. If they rip out then oh well, gotta glass and redrill it but I don't think they'll be going anywhere.

My ski is ready for riding but I'm not so sure about how it'll make it in the salt. I've only ridden fresh water. Leaving on Thursday.
