I was hoping that somebody could provide input in regards to obtaining a Texas title on a used ski bought from Kansas. I was told that skis in Kansas don not require titles; just registration. Is the process of obtaining a Texas title for a situation like this difficult? Also, the ski is tagged through 2009 in Kansas. If I am living/riding in Texas; do I need to have Texas tags….or can I go on the Kansas tags until they expire?

Last I remember, you have to obtain a certain form. Rub in the etching of the HIN and engine numbers onto the paper and there are is an extra fee on top of the usuals.

form 508 i beleive and you do have to have etching off the hull and the engine number like prem1x stated above. mine was a gift and it was 60 total for title and two years registration.

btilly - you can call TPWD in Austin and ask them about the transfer process. They are very helpful and will tell you exactly what you need to tranfer a title (or registration) from any state.
