Tent trail/toy hauler/ travel trailer ?

Has anybody had any experience with tent trailers/travel trailers? I am trying to do some research and looking into getting some form of trailer this spring. I would like to get about a 28 foot tent trailer/toy hauler/travel trailer. This way I can take multipul skis with me but with the price of fuel being above $ 3.00 a gallon I just don't know about that. I would like something light like a tent trailer but have never used one.
I have found thease two tent trailers that would still allow me to carry two stand ups on the cargo area up front. I was just wondering if anybody has used a tent trailer and there thoughts on any of them.

Here is a link to the tent trailer.

You sure the cargo area can handle 700 pounds bouncing? Only thing I know about the tent type is you have to put them away dry, or they get mildewy smelling. Thats not always the easiest thing when you live out west.

I don't have any experience here but I would like the same thing. I will have to carry a sit down and a stand up along with the sitdowns trailer.

I found what seems to be the best idea ever. A guy took a pop up tent camper like one of those you posted... O BTW check your links they don't all work....He took the wheels off of the tent camper and turned it sideways on a tandem axle 20 foot utility trailer pushed it all the way to the front. So the door faced the rear and the tents open to the sides. Then he puts his 4 - 4 wheelers on the back. Doing it this way when the 4 wheelers or jet skis in our case are off of the trailer he has a 12X7 foot deck on the front porch.

I also like that idea so I wouldn't have to take the trailer I could just back my "home" for the weekend down the boat ramp and launch the skis. Or there would be enough room for the golf cart and the beach dolly.

Good luck and post pictures...

My family had two different tent trailers (popup campers) and two different travel trailers growing up. The tent trailers get the job done, but I'd only buy one because I absolutely couldn't find a hardwall camper that I could afford. They are easier to tow, but everything else about them is a compromise compared to a regular travel trailer. They can be a PITA to setup and take down (must be clean and dry), the whole thing moves A LOT when one person moves around or even rolls over in bed, they are marginal at keeping warm or cool, and they block no noise at all. If it fits your needs, then go for it. From the looks of things, you're looking at pricey models. I would look for a good used toy hauler that didn't have any "tent" appendages.
