Yes, Noel Hughes owned a shop here in Palm Harbor/Clearwater FL.
He sold out to powersports about 5 years ago.
Raced Waveblasters in the mid 90's. http://tampabay.citysearch.com/profile/2838320/clearwater_fl/cycle_springs_team_savage.html
Noel did win a world title in the novice or expert limited sport class one year, can't remember now.
Shop was a click shop...Not known for much hi performance except limited racing waveblasters...Years later he BRAGGED/told me how he cheated and never got caught!
Noel won the novice class that year (93?) on an X-2.... Shop was originally started by Mike Mitchell when it was more of an "PWC accessory store". Original location was near downtown Dunedin.
I think I met that guy in Ft Walton back in 04 I think. It was at the races, but he was not there for the races.
Was that the same as Savage Motorsports that fielded a huge Race Team in 2000? Sheldon raced for them that year, along with a few others. Huge Semi Rig in the pits as well.
Chuckie or Gordie- is that the same group as the previous Team Savage Motorsports that was off 19 in Clearwater? They sold (name) to someone else a while back I guess? If so, cool, I had no idea.
Mike Mitchell started the shop in Dunedin and sold to Noel Hughes after a year or so... Noel always wanted to get a real "dealership" so after another year or two he bought into the place on 19... and like Chuckie said he has gotten out of the business altogether.
...or something like that.
It would not be unlike Noel to brag about cheating:loser:
