so wondering everyones thoughts onthe tbm super pump cone im running a 9/15 hooker bored exit nozzle on a heavily modified 701 looking at get it to hook up a little better thoughts???

I tried one last year. It might have made a tiny difference in hookup or keeping th pump loaded. But then I tried a real mag pump and it was drastically better.

The good: it's 1/4th the price of a magnum pump

the bad: it's only 5% as effecive (being generous here too)

verdict: save your money for a real mag pump.

Agreed. I bought one earlier this year. I ran it for a few weeks with my ported 701, taper bored nozzle, 9/15 hooker, and total loss. I could tell a difference but not much so I still pulled it out and sold it. The one thing I noticed when I had it was that the pump unhooks violently when you're on that edge and very unpredictable. Sounds terrible like you just sucked something through the pump.

What really sucks about this is that on the SXR it works pretty good. It's the one thing I wish I had on my SJ, the ability to hook up

How many people change the prop to account for the TBM cone? I could see if you simply added the cone to your existing pump prop combo that you may be disappointed, but if the prop/cone combo was done properly I would expect good results.

Just wondering if the cone is being given a fair shot.....I know it works great on the Kawi pumps and it's hard to believe they're that drastically different.

I don't consider changing props part of the bargain. If you have to buy a $350 pump cone and a $275 prop, you're already $625 into a half arsed mod. Meanwhile if you sold your stock pump and prop and used that $625 plus the money you made from the pump and prop sale, you'd pretty much have a mag pump with a prop. Gotta think value for money IMO and at what point are you polishing a turd?

I forgot!
i have one and a properly matched prop and it works awesome. i have seem people put them in their ski with the wrong prop and say they are :):):):). i got mine from legdrag with a c-75 skat and its night and day.

I think the results depend on the exit nozzle size and cone combnation..if these are not mached the pump will not work in most efficient way ( I bet size is tuned to rpm and load)...??

i also think that is part of it. i wouldn't buy just the tbm alone. i only bought it with a matched prop after i was finally making more and more power with my motor and not seeing more punch out of the water. i knew my motor was running stronger and stronger but not feeling it. people that have a well matched prop to their motor and add just the tbm propably think it is a waste. people like me that spent each seasons budget on hp for the motor and never adjusted the pump/prop during those times will see a big result.

good points on the SXR the props are all large hub so with all the small hub SJ stuff around, that is probably part of the issue
