Taylor and Joe at WF

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
I got to meet him for the first time down at Body Beach when he was hanging with the Russians(Micheal and Ivan) and the EME's. There was this guy sitting it a lawn chair facing the lake with his feet in the water. I asked one of the trainers who that was and he told me it was Joe. I had never met him before and went up and introduced myself and told him he was a legend and it was a honor to meet him. He replied "I was a legend" and kind of dropped his head. It made me really sad and uncomfortable, but everyone around him came up right away and said "Dont worry Joe, it will come back" and were patting his back, etc. I really hope that he can get all his sight back and everything turns out ok. Even though I dont know him at all, I really feel for the guy. It must be really tough to have all that taken away from you. I tried to put myself in his shoes and see what i think and feel and it was not good at all.

i hung out with joe a bunch last weekend. his eyes are very slowly getting a little better. if youre sitting right next to him he can now see a slight hazy outline of parts of your face. this little imporvement has given him high hopes. if you see him or talk to him. tell him to stay strong and keep working hard to get better. even though emptionally hes doing better than in the past, we all still need to push him to keep goin.
