Take a look at my engine

I was looking at the engine in my new SJ and I realized the paint is being burned off around the exhaust ports. Is this normal on a 701 engine?

The previous owner told me he tuned the pipe to bottom end power and tuned the AFR very conservatively. I plan to check both soon.

Was this a serious post? The ski has 160psi on both cylinders and I don't have any reason to believe anything is wrong with the ski.

You guys think it could be from the stock exhaust? Is it common?

That paint has been known to change color in the high temperature areas.

It possible the there may have been an exhaust bracket bolted over top of where the sprayed area could not be reached?

Do you have your b-pipe exhaust manifold plumbed for two fittings?

What temperature do you have coming out of your pisser?

There's no problem...Yamaha didn't paint the silver motors with very good coverge, NO you didn't burn the paint off! The head would have to turn brown first! I have bought several brand new superjets and built many racers with them and I know how to melt them down when the cooling line comes off.

Yes, it's junk! Please send it to me for a core........or

Uh.....how 'bout that's where the factory exhaust (big box) blocked the flow of paint!
No doubt that Factory Pipe is also toast, I have a nice clean stock exhaust which I'll trade. In fact there's really no telling what other damage you did to the ski. Let me know what day you want to pick it up!..lol

DUDE! your chit is Fine!!

I'm just curious does anyone know what the paint code number is for the engine?

Does anybody sell the paint in a spray can, for that engine color?
