I can't find much on this subject. I have a solas pump in my sxr and it has the trim ring on it already. I'd like to install the cable or what-ever is needed to either make it a drop-nozzle (and angle it up as it sits normal) or make it a flip nozzle... anyone done this yet? someone has to have.

Maybe I'll get it all the way around NEXT time....

Shonuff has one set up on an SXR, I believe. My Skat nozzle is similar, it is really just as simple as user_error says - drill, fill and go! Just watch out for other tubes in your path as you drill - that could be a recipe for trouble.

I either made a new thread or posted a step by step on my SXR build thread on how I did mine. I just don't know how to look it up on my phone.

I saw yours, but mine was a little different... what i do see is that my top fitting has a cooling hose going thru it.. I have the bottom right one not used, I assume there are 3 thru-hull fittings? if so i guess i can swap and use the bottom 2 for cooling and the top one for the trim cable. are the trim cables/levers specific? and if so where can I buy em?

ok, after looking at it a little more it looks like I will have to make this a drop nozzle (unless i want to cut a huge notch out of the steering nozzle) so looks like I can just drill a hole below the steering cable? anything in there that would be of concern? the nozzle has a place to attacht the cable, but the trim ring looks like its off by about an inch (lower than the holder) so I'd have to rig up somthing there also. what do you guys use as a fitting around the hole in the hull/cable?

Easiest way for me to handle the thru hull is order pieces from Pro Tec. Cable, lever and bracket you may be missing should be available from a Solas dealer. Have you tried to contact anyone from/dealer for Solas

on both of mine i just bought a 24" stainless tube from grainger.com and some 5200. drill a hole with a LONG drill bit through the hull underneath the steering cable location and push the stainless tube through it, then seal up everything with 5200. run the cable through, get it all adjusted in place, and then use some adhesive silicone to seal up the cable in the tube.

assuming you have the drill bit and trim cable, you can install the tube for roughly 30 bucks (tube, 5200, and adhesive silicone). i think i used thin walled 1/2" OD stainless tube..cost around 12 shipped from grainger

that thread was perfect... I kinda forgot that i can bend that more than i think... I was more thinking steering cable... but i can just cut the notch, and run it thru the siphon hole and probably that's it..... anyone have part numbers on the cable and handle to use? or what yall like?

Impros stocks the cables, you can use any lever you want. The one that came with my Solas was huge.

I have a solas pump on my sxr. I used a cooling line pipe for my cable. trimmed out the exit nozzle for pull trim up. How ever you may need to put a small piece of rubber or some sort of spacer behind you drive shaft in you pump. It seems the pump is set back a little. This will keep drive shaft from walking back away from your coupler and possible separating will under power
