Sxr wetpipe question

Has anyone found the Factory Pipe jetting to be to lean? I just installed wetpipe with 80 Lows 3/4 turn out and 152.5 highs 5/8 turn out and it is lean on the top end. Mainly just the rear cylinder I actually stuck a ring on it . It shows good color on the front lean on the rear. Motor is stock internals just groupk cut head and Jetenetics flywheel. What are you running for jetting? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 05 took 1+1/4 out on high speed screws in Alabama(close to sea level)

I have a very similar set up. the FFP wet pipe jetting is very close.
It's odd to only a lean condition in only 1 cylinder. Are you sure you don't have a air leak. Base gaskets are know to go which will cuase a lean condition in 1 cylinder.
Just my 2cents

I have not pulled the cylinder yet to check the base gasket. I will tomorrow. It just seems strange it only is since the wetpipe install.

Pressure test first, you may have had something going on for a while and not known it. EZ to do on that setup, buy 3 plugs for the two intake holes on the int. manifold, and exhaust manifold, and pump up from the pulse line.

With the new head I did find it to be slightly more lean in the rear cyl. I am about 185 psi w/28cc domes. I kept the same jets and had to go up on the top screws. Don't really know where I'm at now, but probably 1 turn out or more. Do a high speed plug chop and pull the plugs. Silvery is lean, brown is good. Caution: Read up on doing this because there are a lot more factors than I'm going into here.

I pressure checked today before pulling cylinder. It held 10lbs for 10 minutes so no air leak. The piston actually seized on the front side of the exhaust and the rear side of the intake. I think it maybe time for dual cooling. The strange thing is the rear plug looked lean but the piston color looks great. For those of you running dual cooling are you tapping the manifold or running one line for the engine and one for the exhaust?

I run dual at the manifold for even water distribution, you have a stock head?

You really don't need dual cooling. I have a dry pipe(195psi) full limited and still use single 1/2 cooling. My surf boat- wet pipe, 185psi, rad wheel, i'm running single 3/8 cooling. Only open boats need dual cooling. I think you have a problem somewhere else. Have you checked for a clog in your cooling system?
Do your carbs still have chokes? What are you running for a prop?

Checked cooling system no blockage. Choke plates still in. Prop solas dynafly 13/22 . Everything was fine a week ago before wetpipe install.

It's good you left the chokes in with FFP jet specs but those specs are for stock prop. Your putting more load on the motor with the solas prop. You need to jet higher. Do you have any tach numbers? what nozzle size?

No tach numbers. What do you think larger jets or just start with richer like 1 1/2 turns out instead of a 1/2? Stock nozzle was going to bore to 80mm just have not yet.

You didn't do the manual timing advance with the electric loop by pass for the CDi did you? What year 03 or other? Were you running wide open for a wile before it went or how were you using it. Freestyle, racing, rec?

Ski is a 2006. I have had the Factory Pipe advance loop in all season before the pipe install. When it stuck the ring i was full throttle for maybe 1 -2 minutes just rec riding. I ran one tank of fuel before it stuck just probably not full throttle for as long. The first tank i was mainly adjusting pipe screws. I started with bottom 1/2 mid closed top 1/2. When it seized i had the top almost closed bottom 1/2 but the pipe was not sizzling.
