looking to buy a girdled pump gas head, dont want to have to mess with base gaskets, anyone have one kicking around , and or which is the best? im running a wet pipe thanks
TBM is the highest quality in terms of user convience IMO. ADA is a decent average head kit. Kommander heads require you to machine the cylinder and you need to be very careful installing the lower case nuts. they MUST be aligned properly for the girdle bolts.
FWIW On the Kommander and TBM heads the dome profiles allow for a more optimized burn pattern than the ADA head. this optimizes the burn pattern and equates to a more efficient system overall.
Also, swapping the base gasket to a thicker one is a no brainer. Using the .060 base gasket and .050 drop down domes you can gain (depending on setup) about 1mph on the top end with zero loss of bottom end power. it is stupid not to swap to the thick gasket.
