I rode my buddy's SXR that had Mashers, 0 degree bars, and sponsons. He also had a Worx ride and intake. The ski handled great, but I personally did not care for the Mashers. Not only did they take up a lot of room in the tray, the fact that they sit past flush makes for a somewhat uncomfortable riding position with your feet. As a result, I opted to go with some DaKine footstraps and some new Hydroturf (since my OEM mat is peeling away).
I love the ski stock for now, and don't plan on putting $$ into the motor until I get bored of it. If I were you, I'd spend the money on stuff like a bilge setup, intake grate and ride plate, grips, bars, and other "comfort" type mods. The engine mods are great, but you sacrafice reliability and it's always best to learn to ride a stocker real well before slapping some bolt-ons on it and end up killing yourself or the boat.
If you are going for freestyle, stick with some good footholds (not the Mashers...unless you try them and like them) or straps, get a bilge and/or a scupper, some comfortable bars, and hood starps. That's a good start. Oh, a D-Cut ride plate and intake is a good idea too.
