SXR SXR engine build

I have a 06sxr with a bone stock motor. I have a $2000 budget on motor build and was considering doing the groupK sleeper big bore or buying a wet pipe, head, reeds, advent igniton, and lightening my fly wheel. Just curious to see what everyones opinion would be or what they have done with a similar budget.

With a bone stock engine, here's what I would do with $2000.

Wet Pipe $800
Flywheel $600
Advent $535
Mill your stock head for 92 octane, you can usually have this done for about $100.

Instead of Advent, you could have your cylinder ported, or your carbs done by Art at Blackjack, but for sure the wet pipe, flywheel and head.

If your engine is running fine, don't touch it. Save up your coin and build it later.

Im definetly going to have to take a look at that head. The groupk package sounds so good with the reliability but I want more power and doing the mentioned above seems like it would give me more. Thanks for the advice I appreciate it

Check your compression with your current head. SX-Rs tend to come out of the box with 170 or so compression and much higher and you're looking at running 93 full time and much higher than that, race gas - 93 mix.

I have the Group K big bore kit on one of my skis.

My advice if you're looking for big power, call Art at Jetworks.

Art is now branched off, I'm not sure the exact relationship, but he's technically at Blackjack Performance at 1-949-331-8279 or blackjackperformance@gmail.com, he's good at getting back quickly via email and prefers that method for communication so it's all documented what you want, but feel free to pick his brain via phone, just make sure you have some time to kill and take notes, he loves to talk and you will be bombarded with great info.

But in any case +1 to Art, he will steer you in the right direction. I plan on sending my SXR engine there here shortly.

Talked to Art last night you werent lying about being bombarded with info. After talking to him im going to send my cylinder, carbs, intake manifold, and nozzle to him to get work done and allso buy a girdled head and wet pipe through him. He definetly reassured me that my sxr will definetly wake up and give me the power I want with my budget. Thanks again Cannibal

Art has my sxr engine now, can't wait to get it back. He was great to talk to. I learned a lot just on the phone.
