SXR Bow Stop

I have a new to me 2005 SXR and am currently setting up a trailer. The bow ring is mounted very high on the ski and also just below the hull is pretty flat. I was trying to utilize a standard 3 in vee roller bow stop. Typically I like the bow ring below the roller but I don't think that is possible. The roller might damage the plastic nose piece. Also I don't think a vertical Vee stop pressing on the plastic nose would be a good idea. With the roller mounted below the bow ring and having the winch line level, it appears the ski could move forward in a sudden stop or accident. I guess I could run the winch strap under the roller.

How are people setting up a bow stop-winch line to prevent the ski from moving forward. Pictures would be great.

Thanks,

Mike

I see how you are pulling down. Is the roller just above the bow eye and below the plastic nose piece lip? I guess you have to be careful that the nose piece doesn't catch when unloading.

That looks like a nice bow stop. If I had a square member to mount it would be great. I was able to adjust my 3 in standard bow roller up so it is above the bow eye. It is up under the upper lip. I don't think it will harm the plastic nose. I have my bow strap for travelling under the roller to pull the nose down to the roller. When I winch it up I probably will have it over the roller then switch.

Thanks,

Mike

That bow stop will not work on an SXR. I bought one and was disappointed when it arrived. Here is my set up.
