SXR 800 won't start in the water

Folks,

I have 2005 SXR 800 that has been running fine until recently. Basically, the last time I was riding it became difficult to start and then wouldn't start in the water at all. It runs fine out of the water on the hose, has 150 psi compressions, brand new spark plugs, and brand new 91 octane fuel (45:1 with Castor 927). Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jonathan

The broken part of the reeds did go through my motor and took out a dome and piston. I also had some rod rash on the cases from one of the petals getting under the rod. I ended up splitting the cases cleaning everything up, honing the cylinders and replacing pistons, rings and domes
