I need some input on intake grates. I have a sxr with groupk 850 sleeper. It has tbm intake grate on it with d cut plate. I am looking for something with a bit less brakes. I love the tbm but thinking I want something less agressive. I ride smooth water mainly chasing boat wakes and racing friends around. Any recommendations?

I really liked my TBM on flatwater. It worked great and made the ski handling very predictable like you commented about "the brakes". When I would ride surf I would remove it to "loosen" the ski up a little. I was using it with a "D" cut short plate also. I don't have any suggestions for a replacement as I think you have one of the better grates available, try riding without it.

i considered the wr222 but ended up with the wr225 only because i felt as if the 222 was just another top loader. i guess i should of tried it before. the wr225 brakes alot, it is aggressive and i swear it shaved 2-3 mph off the top, but i dont really care. it took all the unpredictability of the stock grate away as in the wobbliing i saw with the stock grate. excellent in chop and surf and still allows you to whip the the tail and do slide outs, etc...but that might be a rideplate thing and mine is stock.

the WORX 222 is a good all around grate. The TBM is more for racing. I ran both, given that I raced the TBM was the best for me.........
