sxi pro primer kit install?

I need to install a primer kit on my 99 sxi pro. Any recommendations on where to order one and are there any installation diagrams available?

No instructions needed, pull the chokes out, JB weld the fittings in, install tee's and hose.

You can find it at Lowe's in the paint section with the other glues. It takes awhile to set up so you may have to tape the fittings down for a day or so.

FYI...if you are installing a plunger primer in the stock choke position with the dash pad on, you will find the hull to be very thick in that area and you won' be able to get the retaining nut on...I found this out when doing mine, I just used a little epoxy paste and it worked just fine. Maybe someone else has an alternative for you. Thats just what I found.

Will the primer knob mechanism clear the electronics inside?

yep...but you have to remove ebox to get at it, not completely from the machine, but you do have to remove bolts and move it off to the side.

So I have removed the entire choke mechanism from the knob to the carbs, now I am trying to figure out which fuel line is the reserve and which is the primary?
There are 2 lines coming out of the fuel tank, one says "return", it is connected to the front carb.
The second line has no markings and it runs to the rear carb.
Am I correct in assuming that "return" is the reserve line?

No, return is fuel return to the tank.
Fuel pump runs gas in a steady loop.
The supply line is both ON and RESERVE.
The switching is at the pickup tube on top of the fuel tank-
look at the top while turning the knob on the dash and you will figure it out :biggthumpup:

OK, since there are only two lines that run up out of the fuel tank, the fuel supply line to the carbs is the one that runs to the rear carb, which is then fed through the connecting line from the rear carb to the front carb, yes?

I primer both my SX-Rs from the return line.

I just want to make sure I choose the correct fuel line when I cut it to tee in the primer.
The instruction diagram from the Parts Unlimited primer kit that I purchased says: "cut the reserve fuel line and insert the ***"t" fitting.
I am not sure which is the "reserve" fuel line, since I only have one return and one supply.:banghead:

Here's a couple of pics, I have marked in red the "return" line that runs to the front carb. The green one runs to the rear carb and has no markings on it.
Should I tap the primer line into the red "return" line?
