SX/SXi/SXi Pro Switching cooling line and bildge?

I am wondering if instead of having to cut a new hole through my ski to upgrade the cooling if I can just use the large bildge tube and run my cooling off of that and hook the stocker bildge pump up to the cooling in line? I will also be running two aftarmarket pumps so too much bildge water shouldnt be a problem. Has anyone ever done this before? All I'm thinking I need to do is put a larger fitting on my pump to compensate for switch in tube size and also the fitting on the manifold?

not sure exactly what you mean .. but yes you can eliminate the hulls siphon bilge and run one or two bilge pumps or even a scupper and or combo to get water out .. leaving you and extra factory tube acces to thw rear of the ski for dual cooling or your main cooling you would have to tap into your pump on the other side for dual cooling though of course ..

you would not connect the siphen factory bilge you would be eliminating it .. if you meant you wanted to T it in inline ? then this would be dumpinhg huge amounts of water into your hull LOL . if that s what you meant ..

Didnt really mean run dual cooling, just one big azz cooling line (former bilge line, 1/2"), second step could be to connect the former single cooling line, (1/4") to the stock bilge siphon to retain a little bilge capability and then switch connections back at the pump, larger 1/2" line goes to pump itself and smaller line goes to reduction nozzle to dump bilge. catch my drift?

I do not see the purpose .. I mean teh pump is forcing water in thru that cooling hose if you want more water and cooling add dueal cooling and more cooling lines and pissers off teh head to get more water in and more water out ... but you dont really require dual cooling unless your highly modded or running in warm water I guess .. but i am no expert on the subject by any means

Yes you can use your bilge pump line for 1/2 cooling. You have to drill your pump to 1/4 inch and your manifold for 1/4 inch. And plug off your old cooling line.

youll have more than enough cooling if you use the stock pipe through the hull. The part you need to upgrade is the fittings at the pump and manifold, I did this and have no problems at all. I made a post back when I did it http://www.x-h2o.com/threads/91289-cooling-upgarde&highlight=cooling+upgrade

BTW I run two bilge pumps as well but still wont throw out the stock siphon bilge, the electric pumps can fail at random and they dont full clear the hull as well as the stocker. Just my .02 but a sunk ski sucks.

Your still fine. I'm running a 800cc ported, high comp, FP limited, flywheel, gutted water box and considering timing plate or msd. Cooling is the last thing on my mind, its just not a problem on kawi. I run mine wide open for long periods of time too. Typically your only going to have overheat issue if it's not tuned properly or there is a obstruction in the system.

Also. While your in there replacing the fittings on the pump, if you use a 90deg elbow facing forward off the pump toward the hull you can eliminate the big loop. Decreases restriction and also makes removing/installing the pump easier.
