Now this is what I'm talkin about! So what all did you change from the rickter? Still only selling em locally?

Weight and type of layup? How'd that deck you sent me pictures of turn out?

Hull is deeper, tunnel wider, rideplate from side to side(able to extend lenth of hull) for beginners. Sponsons added and front changed. Handles better for my style of riding. Top deck is modified mainly for looks but frontfoot hold is functional in tricks. The layup is ve infusion resin. Apx 80-100 oz material. I build tanks. 100 pound hulls without hood

Well I mean with infusion you should be getting close to 50/50 resin/glass ratio. At 100oz/yard and the ski being about two yards you'd have 12.5 pounds of glass. If you have 50 pound decks that leaves 37.5 pounds in resin and core?

This is what i mix 3 gallons per deck. Only really uses 2.5. In the end my decks way 33-34lbs each. I just weighed both skis up and 98lbs. Out the door
That's mixing almost three times the required resin and using almost exactly twice the required resin for the weight of your layup. Then there's ~30 unaccounted for pounds between the two decks. I'm genuinely intrigued as to how these numbers are adding up.

I'm not sure it really works like that...2.5 gallons of resin weighs about 25 pounds. If you are reaching the correct saturation point that 25 pounds of resin saturates about 25 pounds of fiberglass regardless of type of fabric. Assuming you actually use that 2.5 gallons, that only leaves 8 pounds of reinforcement in your 33 pound deck. Can you explain specifically how this works?

Putting that discrepancy aside, where does that extra 30 pounds come from? Post layup reinforcement? If the extra 30 pounds is coming from your extra thick layup on the stress points do you mind sharing where those stress points are and how you reinforced them?

Perhaps thats not my strong point on the equations. I just know what i do and how much it weighs. Cutoffs, consumables and the resin puck at the end idk dalton, move to lakeport and help me in my weak areas. As for now i just do what i do and i do know gelcoat is what i like to use as a surface
