I'm a pretty much new surf rider and have been modding my ski since I got it last year. A Worx 201 grate worked wonders for me, install footwells and reinforce the tray while your at it. I used Blowsion Klowner footholds which give a lot more room for your feet in the tray. The thick 25mm padding is awesome I'm glad I put new turf and padding on-my feet and knees love it. You probably won't need windsurf foot straps for awhile but you could put the parts in to add straps when your ready. Bilges, hood straps, pole limiting rope and you'll be good to go for awhile. I've not done any motor mods and don't plan on it for a while. There is plenty of power to surf with until you get pretty good. Put some turf over the front holes on the hood if you've got some. Or just plain 'ol duct tape until you get some turf.

My suggestion would be to do the mods to keep your ski from sinking (limiting rope, hood straps, bilges, turf over the front hood holes) and make sure everything is in good mechanical and electrical working order so it will start when you need it to.

New billet hood hooks and hood latch might be a good addition as well-again parts to keep you from sinking.
Other parts I added are curved throttle lever, 0 degree bars and new grips made riding much much more pleasent.

Good luck-Scott
