Surfriding Surf in Houston

Is there decent surf near houston? or is it mostly storm based? Thinking about moving their for a job, and this could play a factor?

We make surf trips on a regular basis and its always fun. Galveston, Surfside, Port Aransas are all within an hour to four hour drive. Whats really nice about TX beaches is you can camp, build fires, and ride whenever you want. We have ridden in the middle of the night on a full moon before. Just watch the surf report and go from there. Let us know if you move down here.

Yah it varies. Weekend warriors don't work so well because the surf can disappear overnight
