Surf hull

I want to buy a lighter and stronger hull for surf riding based on a superjet but cannot afford 10k, can anyone give me info on the R.E.V hulls that waterdawg is selling for under 3k.
Thanks, 5.

What about an XF kit from trinity. They sell the sxr XF kit for 3K, the SJ one should be about the same when it becomes available next year. Thats assuming you don't mind assembling it yourself. Its not carbon but they say the SXR still comes in 80lbs less than stock, and I've never heard any strength complaints about trinity's stuff.

I am gona have to be the bad guy here.

I strongly suggest you reinforcing your OEM sj hull before buying a REV.... Not only have I heard they handle like crap, but they fall apart like crap also.

Do a search for waterdawg rebuild, and you will no where I am coming from. The materials Jeff uses for the 3k hulls are CRAP!!!! They will not hold up as good as a stock OEM hull that weighs the same. They delaminate, motor mounts come out, all sorts of bad chit. DO NOT BUY!

If you only have 3k I strongly suggest saving a little more, and choosing a better builder.... Ask lots of questions, and know what you are buying before you waste your $$$.

Merry Christmas I just save you a few thousand dollars, and lots of :banghead:

Good luck.

Trinity builds a very nice hull, search his builds and you should see the difference. :purr:

Reinforced OEM hull for surf. No need for aftermarket hulls for surf.

Look at what all the top freeriders are on. TC is one of the only surf guys I know on an a/m hull, and he just switched.

yamaslut wrote this based on the new Trinity hull.

I spent a day down at Lake Diddy and rode the ski a few times that day... It's by far the best hull I have ever stepped foot on. One word explains everything: predictability!!!! If you want to do something, it does it. It turns hard like on rails when you want it to and will slide out and get loose too. You can put as much weight as you want forward when turning and the hull just eats it up. I will be buying one of these hulls as soon as I get free money to do so... I seriously hope other builders are making hulls that handle even close to as good as this hull, because this is the future of standup hulls...

I too have not ridden the Q8 or the Fs1, so I can not comment on that.

I rode Taylors FS1. I really liked the ski, but would not spend $6,500 for just that hull. Not that it rode bad, just a lot for not much bennifit, IMO.

Thanks guys, I pretty much thought that was the case from what I have read so far, I have already strengthened my 06 r/n but have had the hull crack a couple of times under the bond line on the side from landing on the side after over rotating barrel rolls so have now put carbon fibre on the outside to strengthen the hull and it seems good but would like a hull just as strong but lighter, Trinity seems the go but not sure when the Matrix will be ready and how expensive it will be.

that spot tends to break alot.. all my hulls have broken there too.. just reinforce, sand, paint, then repeat as necessary.

i'm prolly gonna redo mine after daytona.
