Superjet Wouldn't start

My superjet was working fine all day. I parked it at my friends house for about an hour or two then came back out and tried to start it and it wouldn't. Everything in the motor was fine, but the engine was not even trying to turn over. Then I pulled up the lanyard with my fingers all the way and pressed start and it started right up. Could this mean maybe bad lanyard or starter coil?
Thanks I'm trying to cut down on stupid questions.

Sounds like the lanyard was luck. There is no way for the lanyard to be bad, a long as it is holding up the kill switch. Do you have a primer?

Incorrect. A defective stop/kill switch is actually a very common problem on Superjets.
It is very intermittent, too.

The lanyard is a hard plastic clip. How can that go bad? There is no difference between the clip holding the kill switch up and holding it up with your hand. The switch itself is a different story.

The lanyard holds up that plastic "rod", which, when in the downward position, makes it so that the ski will not turn over. It is simple to take the switch apart and clean the contacts, that is probably the issue.

Thanks guy I am done with the stupid questions. I didn't know if maybe my lanyard had gotten flattened some how. I thought that may be it but I will clean the connections soon because I just got new 0 Degree bars. Thanks Bluegate.
