superjet vs FX-1

looking for justification to buy either or. looking for a 701 for sure. Seeing if others had the option to buy either or and which they went with and why. Also reasons why which one is "better" than the other.

first ski i rode was an fx1. hard to use like very squirly, but loved every min of it. unfornunatly i was borrowing it and couldnt buy it, went with a superjet instead.

Superjet Pros - can reach top speed - can race and corner hard - more power
FX-1 Pros- way more fun to play around on -super lite and throwable - makes you a better rider (cause its hard to ride)
and the fx1 can be lifted easily by 2 guys and walked down to the lake

SJ Cons -heavy - bigger -less mobile
fx1 cons -all it does is porpous on speed runs, hard to get used to, all very old.

im a begginner and thats my 2 cents.

The best thing you can do new homie is find locals that own each and give them a go. A SN SJ rides different then a RN and an FX1. You can ask questions all day and get everyone's personal opinion but experience on each will help you best with your decision.

Also the search feature is your buddy...this topis has been posted about 5 maybe 6 times before.

Welcome!

Yea I saw a post earlier in the month about this. I ride a 94 550sx for now but brother has a 94 sn. B pipe prop head am flammy. Just seeing what others say. I wish I knew someone with a fx-1. Live in Midwest on a private lake and no one knows what stand ups are. We have started a trend out here but I want more power. My sx is fun n all but I want more hp.

An fx1 is only squirrely to those who can't handle one.. they were the fastest ski in their day.. they were designed by some of the best racers at the time, and there was a reason they had the pump/prop combo they did.. in my opinion, guys who try and change that pump only wreck a vintage ski.. I've riden and worked on several, one of my favorites! From the Atlantic to lake Michigan to mille lacs... if you can find an unmolested one, buy it!
