Hello, I am the unfortunate new owner of a 2001 superjet. Apparently this ski was reliable as hell and it even started in the guys garage I bought from, but as soon as I got is home it was apparent that the ski was electrically fried.
Replaced teh start/stop lead in the ebox, replaced every 4 gauge cable, fixxed all the broken wires in the ebox. Still wont crank, so out comes the starter motor and it just throws sparks on the bench. I can't find a single Mitsuba trademark on this thing so I assume it is aftermarket crap, but apparently this motor worked for over a decade somehow.
It looks fine and I even tested the armature, everything seems to be dialed. I don't know if its worth reassembling though as something is obviously not right.
Now I have a used mitsuba Sm-13 on order, it looks clean as hell, no rust. i'm trying to find a rebuild kit for it, and I found this http://www.stockers.com/index.php?dt=SM-13
What sucks is it appears to just be the brush holder and brushes, doesnt even picture the pos post
Is there anywhere to get a complete rebuild for the OEM starter anymore? Does anyone know of a kit that crosses over from like an ATV starter?
Last question, is the Sm-13, which I believe it the stock superjet starter, is it a 4 pole or a 2 pole motor?
Thanks for the help, Im not usually so wordy but I have been tearing my hair out over this thing. I don't even care if I ever get this thing in the water, I just want it to start 1 time in my garage.
