Superjet sometimes won't turn over

Hi everyone!

2 days ago i bought a ski, but rightaway a strange problem. My superjet 701 (2002) sometimes won't turnover. When i push the starterbutton nothing happens, only silence. no spinning startmotor, nothing.

When my ski is dry everything is fine. but when in the water when the motor stalls (by falling of or just the safetyswitch) it won't start again. The first thing in my mind was a water-electricproblem. After drying for 2 hours everything is working fine again.

Today testing for the cause of the problem.
- putting start-stop case under water, no problem. ski keeps starting
- wetted al the electric cables in the handlebar/steerpole, no problem. ski keeps starting.

What else could it be?

There was just a little bit of water in the engine bay while driving. Off course the ski moves a lot in all directions and so does the water in the ski. But there are no real sensitive parts in my enginebay that can cause the ski to won't turn over right?

I am very new to this so i hope your expertise can help me in the right way!

greetings Scott

I'd be willing to bet your safety lanyard switch is (the internal part) is sticking in the down position. I've had it happen before and the JSS rebuilt s/s switches are notorious for it. You could take the lanyard switch apart and lightly grease it. I've also noticed that if you are out riding and you smack the switch housing a bit, you can jostle the switch loose and the ski will start up again.

Nope, that isn't it. Ski did still not turn over when i De-assembled the whole start-stop box. By de-assembling the box the safety switch is of course no issue because it can't be in the "down position" then. Only after 2 houres of waiting the ski suddenly came back to life. For testing water resistance I placed the buttons in water for 1 minute but no problems there.
