SuperJet quit running...help.

Okay, my faithfull square nose let me down.
I was riding along and it was running perfect. All of a sudden it quit...like someone pulled the teather.
It wouldn't re-start, so I towed it to shore. After sitting on the beach for 10 minutes it started right up. I put it in the water and it ran perfect for about 5 minutes, then all of a sudden it started jerking and missing like the timing was just turned WAY off. It was too crisp and clean to be fuel related IMO.

I pulled off my jetnetics flywheel expecting to see a sheared off key or something, and there was nothing obvious there.

I do have a MSD enhancer. I know they are known for there problems, but I always heard that when they go, they go.

Any ideas???
I need to get it fixed and get some testing time to be sure it is fixed before I take it all the way to Daytona. It's getting a little cold here in MI for testing!

Maybe the kill switch. Turn the idle speed down to where it dies in the water, disconnect the kill switch connector (white & black wires) & test ride.

It's worth checking.
I had to replace the start stop assembly once about 5 years ago because I had problems with it.
Not sure it it would do what I was feeling, but it's worth making sure.

the s/s assy wont make it start missing and jerking but it definately sounds electrical.

as mentioned, check your box for water and check all of your grounds in the box. they might look and feel tight at the connectors, but the conductors can be broken under the insulation.

make sure the metal rings that clamp around the top of the sprkplugs are positioned properly then do a continuity test across your sparkplug leads with an ohmmeter.

switching your cdi out for a known good one, even if its a stocker, will help to troubleshoot and its easy.

Well, I pulled the electrical box apart and out came water.
I have it pulled apart and drying out. I am going to clean up and greese all the connections. Hopefully everything is okay.
