Freestyle superjet pump question?

I'm new to super jets and have a few questions about the pumps. I keep seeing adds all over for the solas 12 vein stator section and was wondering if it's worth the money to buy just the stator piece and run it with the stock set up with a good prop. can you do that or is it not worth it? If you can what do you need to do ? I'm not familiar with Yamaha stuff and I'm trying to build a super jet on a budget haha i keep seeing stuff about large hub and it's all confusing me ! Help a simple minded cheap fool out! what's the best bang for a buck on a freestyle super jet? am i on the right track with the pump prop trim?

Yea, the large hub thing is pretty important. Here's some text from Impros website.

You will need a large hub design impeller such as the Impros Hooker impeller, the Solas Concord YQ-CD, or Skat-Trak C+75 Swirl impeller with this pump.

So... you'll need to drop an extra $250 on an impeller that will work with the Solas mag pump.

If your on a budget save your money...it's not as noticeable of a mod as adding a pipe, head etc., IMHO it's one of the last things to do to complete the puzzle...just get a good skat swirl impeller and your set.

Start with a large hub impeller, it will work well with a stock stator and is worth nearly half the total gain. The Solas stator will further enhance hookup. This becomes most noticeable in rough water, especially with high power. If you ride in clear water then get the power first. Do the pump first for surf riding.

thanks guys for the info the reason i was wondering about the solas pump was because im a kawi guy and solas or skat pumps run like 1600$ for a kawi and i keep seeing the 12 vein solas yamaha for 475$ . in combo with the right prop will it hook me up for flat water? that's why i got the RN- SJ flatwater play and some surf sessions, its to hard on my 750 or sxr . i wanna set it up with a factory b maybe a head , water box , pump/ trim & prop . good set up or no? im trying to not break the bank as well or waste money. i know im gonna have to spend some i just don't wanna dump 1000's on a big motor and freestyle hull . im aware jetski's =$$$$$ haha this is like my 9th ski , just trying to get some perspective on sj mods that are worth it and that will give me some power to throw it around . thanks for the info guys and keep it coming

this winter i just threw in a solas mag pump... i wish i could let you know the difference it is going to make, but... i also got a 9/15 hooker, and upgraded to the 701... soooo my perspective is already going to be "arm ripping" compared to my stock 650... All i ride is flat water, inland lakes... so would not be able to shed any light on the surf situation...

I am also not trying to break the bank on my build, but i started out with a bone stock 650 SN SJ this spring. I pulled everything out/off the hull, reinforced the engine compartment, put in dual bilge, got the 701 (with exhaust off a blaster i think) and the impeller/pump with an ada head (35cc domes) All that this year (ski included) put me back about 2500 to 3000. ANYWAYS to the point is, i am figuring on doing my ski in stages... MAYBE this summer i might be able to find a b-pipe that i can pick up/or a coffman. then a water box, lightened flywheel, and maybe a MSD enhancer too. if not i will enjoy this summer, tear her apart next winter and hopefully i can shell out 800 bucks for a b-pipe IDK, this is the way i am keeping myself from going broke... set stages for youself that wont kill your budget, but to where you will notice a difference.

haha you called me out steve! my "superjet" is at kurts house getting the bow eye fixed as we speak and im getting piece by piece pay check to pay check so i don't go bankrupt haha still have a ways to go though.
