superjet problems. help please!!

I seen the pictures of the compression gauge saying 150 psi.

My guess would have to be air missing. But im not sure if its got to do with the carby screw setting. If they arent set right will it not start?

Was a oem yamaha lighting coil i bought

Pulled flywheel again for another inspection as was just cranking n not firing. Found woodruff key had sheared. And flywheel was sitting about 7mm out. Going to get new key n try again

What method are you using to hold the flywheel/crank while you torque the flywheel bolt ?

Steel flywheel toruque spec is 47/48 for yahmaha 701

You can use rope in the front cylinder to keep from rotating

Be sure to knock down any high spots and remove any remaining woodruff key metal from the flywheels bore and crank snout.

Iam sure your aware the woodruf key TDC's the flywheel to crankshaft TDC and the tapper bore Locks the the two together with proper bolt torque. A clean tapper bore and a good quality key with proper bolt toruqe and is a must.

Hope you get it sorted, nothing worse than having to wrench all the time and not be able to ride

Finally got it sorted!

Got a new key for it. Put it in tried and nothing... then pulled back apart to retard timing to try that when my dad realised when installing the lighting coil to the stator he put it in the wrong position on the stator n was on the right side not the bottom. Mixed up with the other coil in there. Changed this over. Put it all back together. Went to start it and all i got was a click.

Thinking great fried the starter. Jumped from battery to starter n it cranked.
Tested power at the starter cable. Nothing. Pulled it out to find a soft spot in it..cut it back and found powder. The cable had melted to powder dust. Re lugged it put it back on all back together. Cranked it n bam started better then ever.

Put it on the hose started tuning the carby a bit and then died. Great something else happened. Pulled back apart all looked good in the stator. And then a duhhhhhh the only time i didnt have the fuel on!
Put it all back together. Fuel on. Changed plugs as they were flooded. And bang started straight away.

All perfect! Back on the hose for a tune. And shes fixed! Now next goood bit of weather will be going down for a water test!

Hopefully all is well!

Thanks everyone for the input!
