Super Jet superjet handle pole break :(

well i just got my superjet fixed yet again 2 weeks ago and was happy to ride again, i took her out 3 times since then and she ran better than ever, hell i was actually really starting to tear up too. then last saturday i came home from work to put my bilge kit in the ski because i was gonna take her to the beach for the first time. i have her sitting on a wooden lift about the height of a pick up bed off the ground in the garage, i had the handle poll locked upright almost touching the sealing inches from the garage door, my step dad came out and was cleaning up his motorcycle and little did i know had planned on taking it out. he hit the garage door button without realizing my handle pole was locked upright inches from the door and when the door rose took a good number to the pole, hell it almost pushed the ski right off the lift.
I need help anything really my step dad feels like doodoo lol when i got home that night i found him wasted looking for a screwdriver to work on it. i do have a spare handle pole lying around.

what are my options and is my painted pole salvageable, can it be shortened?

please help ive spent countless hours working on my ski for the past year and i lost it when i heard the crack of the fiberglass. honestly felt like i 10 years left my life as the thing about fell 4 ft to the garage floor.

dayum that sux if it was a round nose pole u could fix it quick but sn idk they dont have a metal base like the rn poles

SN poles are hard to repair at that point. id would either replace with a SN pole or upgrade to a RN pole with conversion bracket/aluminum pole.

Don't be to upset think of it as a opportunity to upgrade. The RN pole is much much better if you do put one on you will thank him

is that what you did with yours? i bought a hull several months back for a spare and it came with a handle pole in good shape, my step dads plan is to paint it again and throw it on, what options do i have in a stronger pole or even strengthening my spare oem pole, i wouldnt mind investing in a rn pole if the price is right

Lighter, Stronger, It can be shortened. It won't sit as pretty in the hood, but I did it to my SN and loved it. Cut it -2.5", and now have it down to -7". Best handling mod I did.

my adivce is dont bother with paint.

Fiberglass repair time and beat the hell out of it.

I broke mine aboit 10 years ago like that...I bolted 2 aluminium plates about 6 inches to the inside of the pole on either side...to take the stress off the bolt hole area..pushed the pole bolt through it, and then grinded away on the outside of the pole about 4 mm on the sides....about 12 inches up, and also a little on the top of the pole 12 inches up ...its quite thin there......layed /wrapped up carbon fibre over that and shaped back to virtually the original shape.....i did something similar higher up the pole where they also normally crack due to high stress.......10 years on, and still good.

yes its stronger and lighter. i have a conversion bracket and then a RN pole as the stock pole broke. For a cheap alternative its a good idea. i will however be going to a aluminum pole as my RN pose is starting to feel loose.

The RN poles don't look to bad on a SN.

If you have a spare pole and your stepdad wants to get it painted for you I don't see the hesitation. Get it done! If you are looking to upgrade then go after the RN conversion, if you can find a pole...they pop up and are usually sold just as quick. You can also add an aluminum pole on there. I have one on my SN and love it, it is super light!
