Yamaha Superjet & Freeride jetskiing
The Future of Motorsports
Love the idea of aerial combos or high speed racing, but you’re sick of the injuries? That’s the beauty of standup jetskiing.
History of the Jet Ski
It all started in 1960 when Clayton Jacobson II came up with the idea of creating a dirt bike on water. Not only did that dream come true, but Kawasaki pushed that idea until it became a full production stand up personal watercraft. From then on, Yamaha caught on and pushed the standup jetski to the limits, developing what is now the Superjet. The Superjet has been in production for nearly 25 years, and it still thrives today.
Why a standup jetski?
Whether it be racing or freestyle, motocross is most definitely full of fun and adrenaline rushes. However, the severity of injuries and tragic incidents is extremely high. In freestyle MX, paralysis is not a very uncommon injury. With a stand up jetski, as long as you stay connected, the risk of injury is extremely small. When you fail an aerial trick, you penetrate the water before the ski does, eliminating the impact of a machine on your body.
This under-rotated backflip ends in no injury to the rider, due to him having a smaller surface area than the ski when they penetrate the water. As long as a helmet is used, there isn’t much to worry about.
Why the Yamaha Superjet?
· Reliable 701 cc 2 stroke engine
-Benefits very well to simple modifications, and has enough power to flatwater barrel roll.
Simple modifications like a cylinder head and an exhaust pipe make a tremendous difference throughout the powerband.
· Handle pole that is easily shortened to benefit each person’s riding stance.
· Foot tray design that allows users to install inserts that hold you in when upside down.
· A hull design that is great for beginners to experts, flatwater to ocean surf, freestyle to racing and everything in between. When you completely master this hull, every part transfers over to an aftermarket performance based hull that can further increase your riding boundaries!
