Superjet engine swap from VXR-Pro

I'm thinking of buying a VXR-Pro and swapping the engine over into my SN, but I'm not able to find much information on the VXR-Pro engine setup. What I have found leads me to believe that this ski came with the exact same 61x that the last generation of SN Superjets had. Is that true?

Also, will I need any additional parts for the swap (like a mid shaft.)

Same swap as a raider motor or 62t swap. There's a few threads of that you'll be able to find

vxr pro is the exact same setup that comes in the 94-95 sn sj except the wires are all longer on the vxr. get it and pull the complete motor, carb , exhaust , electrical all in one pull and drop it in a sj. of course you'll need a sj midshaft and driveshaft but all the rest of the pump is the same as sj including the pump seal. even the vxr exhaust hose to the waterbox will work for sj. i've done a few of these and turned a $500 vxr into a $3500 sj

Ok, that helps. I've been looking for conversion threads but I haven't found anything particularly useful. I was hoping that I could just drop it right in and that the coupler would just line up perfectly, but I guess not!

Question: can I reuse my 6m6 mid shaft and housing in the 61x? I've read that it is inferior, but I don't want to have to buy a new one unless I absolutely have to.

send it to jet maniac...used a VXR as my donor too a year ago. Tell him you want the VXR mid shaft assembly converted to fit your SJ. Search button works wonders...

Thanks that's helpful. I did use the search bar and Google site search, but I'd find conflicting information. Some people would say that you need a mid shaft and a drive shaft, and others would say "it drops right in."

You might have some fun trying to get at the mounts with the exhaust left on... or even out in that matter. I managed to lift the whole engine with my bare hands and threw it in. Good luck!

i did this same exact thing and it dropped in perfectly, didn't need to do anything, i used the stock mounts and mid shaft. and i left the exhaust on and everything. it was a pain to get to the motor mount bolts but it was still better than removing the exhaust
