Hey all, so what I originally thought was cavitation turned out to be electrical. The ski would act like it was bouncing off the rev limiter at ~3000 RPM and up. When I was originally having this problem the water I ride on was super salty. I didn't ride for the last 2 months due to winter and weather.
Last weekend I took the ski out and after all the rain the water was much less brackish and nearly fresh. It ran GREAT, no problems whatsoever. I did a few subs to get some water in the hull and rinse all of the dust out. As soon as I saw the bilges quit pumping I got back up and BAM, the ski would act like it was bouncing off of the rev limiter at mid to high RPM.
That's when I realized it was electrical.
I took out the ebox, pulled it apart and checked everything out. The ebox was bone dry, not even condensation. I tried testing my coil and voltage regulator, but my multimeter wasn't reading in-spec measurements on anything. However, I tried the same checks on other working skis in my shop (blaster and superjet) and got the same readings as my electrics.
I have deutsch plugs on my stator cable and start/stop leads as well as a JSS battery terminal relocation kit, so I can pull out the ebox in 2 minutes. I took apart all of my deutsch plugs and filled them and the pins with dielectric grease. I didn't cut back my spark plug wires (new wires in coil with MSD boots) because I did that 2 months ago before my last ride to eliminate that idea and the ski hadn't been ridden since I did (until last week). Start stop switch is a JSS rebuilt unit, with maybe 10 hours on it. I took apart all of the switches in the start stop switch, they all looked fine, so I dielectric greased their insides and put it back together. I also coated my battery and starter terminals on the ebox with fluid film.
Yesterday I took the ski out to see if I had fixed the problem and of course while dry it ran great. As soon as I did a sub and got some water in the hull it started acting up again. Grab the throttle and right off the bat the ski acts like it is bouncing off the rev limiter. It still pulls fairly hard, but not as hard as it should since the motor is revving funny.
I'm wondering if my coil could be going bad? I also forgot to mention that before I took my ebox apart the other day I turned all of the lights off and sprayed a mist of salt water all over the plug wires (with motor running) to see if I could see any arcs dancing off the plugs wires - none were seen.

This problem is baffling me and I like to at least have an idea of what it is before I just start spending money and replacing parts. Your help is greatly appreciated!
