Put the 701 raider motor into a superjet and having some starting issues. Motor worked a little rough in the couch which i thought was old gas or just cuz it sat around. Pulled the motor and just wanted to mess with it in the superjet and get the tuning down. Motor is only running when i put gas in by use of primer. Doesn't look like the fuel filter/bowl fills up so i primed the line to almost full and stuck the gas line back on the carb. Any thoughts of what the issue could be that it runs when i get gas in the carb. Should i clean the carbs and try again. ****Also, I noticed when i changed the exhaust and the spark plugs that the rear cylinder is running rich. I have not checked compression but all seemed good before hand.

A) Clean the carbs
B) Check the spec, if out, rebuild
C) Tune it. Unless you are running the exact same pipe, some tuning will be changing.

Cleaned the carbs, I did not rebuild. When i first picked up the ski i put carb cleaner throughout the diaphram and other parts. I think i dried out the diaphriam because was a bit stiff when i checked it out today. Soaked it in gas and oil to help loosen it up but i still do not see the gas flowing through the filter/fuel bowl. On the filter there is a larger end than the other (not talking about the places hooking up the hoses either). I have the bigger of the two ends in front. Could a backwards fuel filter cause something. Looks like gas is reaching the carbs via the fuel line, not just the primer line, so that must mean its in the carbs??? Might just be time for a rebuild

Did you switch the fuel lines maybe hooked up the return to the supply by accident

I have the line from the filter connected to the back of the carbs and going through the pulse diaphram. Then the return line is connected into the front carb. When i take off the return line i believe i hear air/pressure comming from the tank.
