Superjet 2007 limps

Hi!
Thanks for a good forum :)

I bought a 2007 superjet and it's acting up..

It's like in limp-mode. Starts fine but can't rev. I've checked the fuel system, fuel valve, cleaned carbs, check valve - it's not fuel imo.
I've also checked temp switch, ignition coil, plugs, plug wires and hats, stator and all looks good..
CDI gives me strange test numbers compared to wsm.

Can the CDI go bad like that?

Thanks
Rob

Ok thanks. The measurements from the CDI are mostly up in the 1-20 Mohms - manual says much lower.

Update..
I also checked the regulator and it also had really strange measurement numbers up in the Mohms..

So it looks like I have a bad CDI and regulator.

Does that make sense?

:(
I've replaced CDI, regulator, thermo switch, and ignition coil. No luck - acts as before - so now I have some good spare parts ;)

Here's a film so you can hear how it acts..

Sounds 100 percent like its hitting a rev limiter....out of water sound like overheat sensor kicking in.....disable that circuit and try again

Not at all likely...geez..would not run that clean. Have u run it in water yet.....sounds just like a modified rev limiter which is set too low....engine runs great until it hits that limit

I haven't put it in the water after I changed the parts just fired it up..

Temp switch question - do I need to "ground" black wire and leave pink unconnected? I just pulled them apart..

The op might consider pulling the flywheel and making sure the stator retaining screws did not loosen. Should that have happened, magnetic force would have rotated the stator into a very retarded position- good for starting but not power.

Well, I bought the ski with known fault - bogged like limp mode.
I changed all stated above and thought it sounded just the same..
I got a good advice to put it in the water and test :)
On trailer it jumped out of the water an nearly ran over my feet
Reassembled everything - ski works just perfect :D
It was the CDI or/and regulator that caused the initial problems.

Thanks for the advise!:)
