Custom/Hybrid Superfreak badass 2011. What pole spring with Xmetal pole ?

Will be starting my build the second my hull touches ground here in SA. I''m old school....so i like the pole to be loose and unweighted. Absolutely hate the stiff setup.

Any clever ideas on how to spring the pole ?

A Heavy Duty SXR/SXi spring worked great for my xmetal pole.

It isn't on a freak but, looking at tipafew's pic it seems it would work out just fine. The lower part of the spring just rests against the hull so you wouldn't need to drill a hole in your ski. I slid a piece of rubber fuel line over the bottom to cushion the load. Installation is simple too! I just positioned my pole straight up, held the spring in place with one hand and slid the pole bolt in with the other.

Trust me.....I didn't want to drill a hole in my hull! It ended up working really well though. It doesn't move and it doesn't get in the way of the breather hoses either. Like I mentioned....the only think I would have done differently is move it slightly forward. You don't want to go too far forward with the hole though or it will end up becoming a pole stop! Just had to bend a tweak the end of the spring a little from there to get the desired tension.

BK, you must have a better back than me. I can't ride 15 minutes without a spring and I am toast.

your spring setup looks really clean, I like it. I just hate installing that style by myself. It's near impossible and downright dangerous! And my back started hurting just thinking about riding with no spring. I've tried several times, doesn't work for me either.
