Wondering if I should replace the coil, cdi, or stator first. Which one would cause the decline in spark? Cus I had my ski running fine with a small amount of spark until i towed it home and then it wouldn't start.
I would recommend following these testing instructions first. If all components test in spec, then replace the CDI. For what its worth, every time I've seen a no spark condition it's been either a bad start stop switch or bad CDI.
This was not written by me - but there seems to be enough people here that have electrical issues that it may provide useful to post it. The information below was specifically written about 61X and 62T motors, but applies to any Yamaha waverunner with a 650/701/760 motor since they all have...
You’re gonna have to get out a multimeter and do some troubleshooting per the service manual. Mine recently had a bad charge coil on the stator which caused weak or no spark. But I could tell right away because it tested out of spec.
