Where can I get the tool to hold the flywheel so I can remove the bolt?

Well I tried the rope trick and it worked... the bendix looked fine and worked fine. It was a little dirty inside but i cleaned it up a little. I tried turning her over w/ everything out and it still did the clicking so im guessing its the starter? Or could it be the solenoid in the ebox?

could be. if the bendix engaged when the motor was running it will (most of the time)wreck the starter. i am suprized the bendix is good.

So i tested the starter post w/ a test light when i hit the start button and it is getting power( it even turned the engine over) but i still pulled the entire exhaust to get the starter out. Once it was out i hooked it to the battery and it started turning fine... could it still be messed up? Maybe under a load its bad sometimes?

just pulled motor out last night after bad day at the lake yesterday. i had the same problem. its the bendix. i got lucky no damage to the flywheel or stator. to save yourself big money tear it apart and put new parts in. i think its about $90-100 or youm can rebuild it with oe parts.
