Sucks being a one-man-shop sometimes....

At least you guys have jobs.

Been unemployed since March. Our unemployment rate in this county is over 14%, so no jobs to be found.

Luckily my old boss (who got laid off same time as me) just got hired as the manager of a new distribution company and he's in charge of hiring. Guess who he called first.... :fingersx:

x2 I was laid off for 6 months in the begining of the year... had to take a "regular" job back in Ohio... where the economy sucks... and hard-working people don't get paid :):):):)...

Luckily I did a good enough job to impress the right people and when they needed someone to get the job done... They made the call to the me...

I realized after I posted, the post seems like I am complaining. I was just bored sitting here watching the machine do it's thing.

I am glad I have business, because for awhile there, it was completely dead(and still isn't good), if I was an employee, I would have fired myself a long time ago.

Running your own business sucks sometimes when everyone gets paid before you do!

Ya, you have a pretty cool job. You make some sweet parts people drool over. Thinks might not be so cool if you were making something plain and random with no recognition of your work.

My step-dad is a professional welder at a boat shop (does amazing work, some yacht, some high-end fishing boat), but only makes 15/hr with no benefits. He likes what he does because his work ends up in magazines and winning awards. He doesn't see a dime extra from that though.

I mentioned this job I'm looking at for $20/hr plus full benefits. He's not interested even though welding is tearing up his body. To each; Their own.
